The University Of Texas will beat OU this weekend in Dallas. How many years do fans have to watch OU be called the best team “EVER” only to see them flounder late in the year?
Why is Texas the # 5 team in the country being treated like chopped liver? Last time I Checked, Mack Brown has commitments from the best players available all the way up until the year 2045. The “so-called” professionals who you watch every day on the various networks and local media would lead you to believe that there is a large gap in talent on these two teams. This simply is not the case. I am not saying that Texas is more talented, what I am saying is that Texas has for a long time gotten its pick of the recruiting litter every year since Ole’ Mack stepped on campus. There are many all-staters, Parade All-Americans and Mr. Football’s the Longhorn roster.
The Texas secondary may be young but it has been proven in the past that you can win with a young secondary. Miami 2002 ring a bell? Texas brings just as much firepower into this game as Oklahoma does. Texas has been less than adequate in the running game this year but has Oklahoma really turned heads in this department? Texas boasts the most athletically gifted defense that the Sooners will face until they go to their bowl game. Furthermore, Colt McCoy has been just as impressive this year as Sam Bradford and is more versatile as he leads the Horn’s in rushing this year. I think that team speed on defense and a spirited effort from the Longhorns on offense will bring the Horns an “upset” victory over OU this weekend in Dallas 38-35.
